Not Even Good

Soo... yeah. I didn't do my homework last night. Or the night before. Or the night before. Nice, huh? Getting behind so soon after the new term starts. I decided today that I was gonna kick school in the butt and get caught up. But my doctor's appointment screwed that up. So I came home and did nothing, again. I tried to clean my room, and I did make SOME headway, but it's still not done. I hate getting behind, but I hate working. I hate how much homework I get. It totally is not even good. Not at all.

Today I decided that I actually like Harward. I just don't like his homework. He's super nice and really willing to help us as long as we just ask. I really wanted to get a lot done tonight, but it's already 8:45 and I haven't done anything. Maybe I'll just stay up late and get it all done. Then I'll probably be cranky tomorrow morning. But at least I'll feel good tonight... yeah, that sounds like a good plan.

So I'm gonna get goin' on that.

Oh yeah, one more thing. There's an "I Hate Courtney" Club at school. They're currently taking applications. You should check it out. ;)
I'm out.

Unnnnh

You know when you first wake up and you're no where near coherent and the only thing you can manage to say is "Uhnnnnh..."? Yeah, that's how I am right now. It's actually pretty fun. I'm just warm and sleepy. I feel kinda bad tho, cuz I'm talking to people and they probably think I'm being rude. I promise I'm not, I'm just drowsy.

You know what's a good song? Dream Big by Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband. It's awesome.

Oh, we're going to my grandma's house now. So I'll see ya'll later.

Sick of Sad

Ugh. Alright, here we go.

Everyone is allowed to have their emotions. That's totally true. And I think it's good to feel a variety of things. BUT I hate it when my friends are sad. Seriously. And I feel like I have to fix it. I feel like I have to make it better. When someone is sad or angry, my first thought is "Did I do something?" My second thought: "What can I do to make it better?" And when the answer to the second question is no, it KILLS me. I hate not being able to fix things. I'm a fixer. I can't help it. My dad's a fixer. I guess I learned it from him. I hate knowing that anyone is sad or hurt (physically, emotionally, mentally) and that there's nothing I can do to make it better. I guess that's one reason I want to be a doctor: I can fix people, at least physically. Even if I don't know them, or their family, or what they did yesterday, I would be able to help them. (Was that a comma splice? Oh well.)
I'm beginning to learn that, most of the time, I can't fix it. Whatever IT is. And you know what? It doesn't feel good to figure this out. It seems that lately, when one of my friends is having a bad day, or feeling sad, there's nothing-ABSOLUTELY NOTHING- that I can do. And it hurts. So I've started to avoid people when I know they're sad. Horrible, huh? Doing that completely goes against every instinct and nature I have. Because when I'm around someone, and they're sad, especially if I can't fix it....well, it makes me sad. And I hate being sad. So I have to choose between being with someone and being sad, or being without them. And that's a hard choice. Either way, I'm not as happy as I could be. I hate not being happy. I try my hardest to stay happy, and I like it that way. Even when I have a crappy day, I still try to find at least one thing to smile about. And I've gotten pretty good at doing this. But when I'm sitting next to someone, and they're sad, and I can't fix it... it's hard to find anything to smile about. (I have a feeling there are a bunch of comma splices in this post. Curse you, Harward.)
I don't know. This probably isn't making any sense... :S

I just know that... Well, I'm sick of people being sad. I'm sick of not being able to make people happy. I'm sick of people being sad because of me or something I said or did. I'm sick of not being able to laugh and smile because people are sad. It's stupid. I'm a happy robot, and I like it the way I am. But it's becoming increasingly harder to stay a happy robot when everyone around me is sad.

Annnnnnnyway, on that happy note. ;) I'm outta here.

EOT

End Of Term. I'm way behind, so I probably won't be blogging much in the next few days.

I don't know if I'm going to blog much for the next little while, anyway. I think I'm just going to take a break. I really have nothing to write about. And there are like, 2 people even reading.

.....yeah.

So I'm out, for now and for a awhile after.

Epic

Today is the 4th day of 2007. Now, I could do a simple review or 2006. Or I could be a loser and completely follow Nick (Great job, Nick, btw. That was an awesome post.). OR I could be Courtney, and come up with something completely new. So I decided to do that. Technically, it's still a review of 2006, BUT instead of hearing how I feel now about something that happened in March, you can hear about how the me in March feels about that thing that happened. Does that make sense? So basically, here's what's goin' down. I'll go month by month, describing an event taking place in each month, AND I'll include a quote from my journal, talking about that specific event. So even though I might feel differently now about something that happened a few months ago than I did when it first happened, you're going to hear how I felt then. :D Just know, most of the things I'll write about aren't huge events. They're little nights watching movies with my friends, or at dances, or things like that. They may mean nothing to anyone but me. But I had fun, and they do mean something to me. So read on. Ladies and gentlemen: This is going to be Epic.
Let's start at the beginning, shall we?

January:
I celebrated the New Year with Tania, Valerie, Thatcher, and Kyle at First Night for Youth at the Conference Center. It was AMAZING. You have no idea. Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband was awesome. Kelly Duhan was as entertaining as ever. It was a wonderful night, we had dinner at my house, although because Thatcher was late (as always!) he was rather rushed in eating. Then we took Trax downtown. Afterwards we returned to my house to play Catch Phrase, and pop some poppers at midnight.
On January 26, I wrote:
New Years Eve we went to the First Night for the Youth at the Conference Center. I took Valerie, Tania, Kyle and Thatcher. It was a lot of fun even though we missed the region dance.

February:
The region dance in February was awesome.
On February 19, I wrote:
Last night was the region dance. It was a lot of fun. A little bit into the dance, we (meaning me, Stuart, Seth, and Peter) decided to go outside. It was snowing and there was a ton of snow on the ground. The ground was cold and wet, so of course I went out barefoot. Seth and Peter both freaked out. I was laughing and teasing them. I was perfectly fine. A little chilly ;), but fine. I even walked through the mounds of snow, with snow up past my ankles. I ignored the protests of all of my friends. Finally, they made me go back inside.

The funny thing about that, is that there were little puddles around my feet for the next 15 minutes until all of the snow melted off my feet and legs. ;)
Then February 28 was my birthday! I turned 16, and had an awesome birthday party. This deserves to be in here, because it was a big deal to me. I don't know if anyone else cared, but I had fun!
On February 28, I wrote:
*Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to me! Today has been the best birthday ever! On Friday I had my birthday party. Too much fun... Thatcher got his coat stuck in the Tanner's tree. Crazy kid."

March:
In March, Taylorsville City Youth Council went to Utah State for a few days for a leadership conference. I made a bunch of new friends, and had a blast.
On March 18, I wrote:
I just had a great week! I went to USU Youth Council Conference. I made some amazing friends! Hannah, Isabelle, Nate and Joel. We had such a great time. And they're from River Heights! They know grandma and grandpa! So the most amazing thing about this is that I'll get to see them again! It was really sad when we left today. I got cell phone numbers and everything, so it's going to be so great!

And I have seen them since! It's amazing, I love making new friends!

April:
The band, orchestra, and choir went on tour. It was a lonely week.
On April 2, I wrote:
The past few days have been good, but strange. The band, orchestra, and choir went on tour. School has been so empty. Usually there are about 20 people around my locker. On Wednesday-Friday there were 2. Everyone was gone. Stuart, Becca, Melissa, Peter, Kenny, Sarah, Kyle. There were some people still at school, like Thatcher, James, Levi, Valerie, Tania, and Hope. And it was fun to spend more time with them, but there were a ton of people gone. I've talked to Melissa a lot while she's been gone They went to the zoo and the beach and Sea World. I talked to Kenny yesterday. It was a lot of fun.

I also started hanging out with Jaron and Alan more. And now they're my best friends!
On April 2, I wrote:
I've been hangin out with Jaron and Alan a lot lately, too. They're so funny! They make me laugh so hard! "I'm unarmed!" Hahahaha!
On April 9, I wrote:
Jaron and I... decided to make up our own country. It's called Cjaron. It's awesome! We even have our own "language." It's so cool! ... Jessica and I decided we're gonna double w/ Jaron and Alan. We're gonna go bowling. Jaron says he'll teach me, which is good cuz I can't bowl!

May:
I didn't write anything in my journal during May. I'm sure whatever I was doing, it was great fun!

June:
Girls camp. Ugh. If you know me, you know I am NOT a camper. We'll leave it at that. ;)
On June 7, I wrote:
Kill me now. I'm in a van with 12 other girls. Most of them are beehives, and VERY loud. Lynsey won't shut up! She's singing and gossiping and annoying me. ... I swear, someone is going to end up dead before we get to camp. Either me or someone else! And it'll be my fault!

Now you see that I have little patience when I'm cramped up in a van with 12 12 year olds who are singing Rascal Flatts songs at the top of their lungs. And it's probably not a good idea to wake my up at 5 AM during the summer, either. ;)

On June 8, I wrote:
Alone at last. I don't get much quiet at girls camp. ... All I know now is that I'm very cold.

It rained, snowed, hailed, and slushed. That's right. Slushed. I gained about 40 pounds and 2 inches in height from the mud that stuck to the bottom of my shoes. It was... an experience.

July:
Alan was in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Murray Park. I went to see it, talk about fun.
On July 27, I wrote:
Wow. Today was great. What a turn around. It started out crappy, but ended up great. This morning I told myself that I was gonna have a good day, and I meant it... until my mom told me that I wasn't going to Alan's play. I was so angry. I turned up my music, really really loud, and stayed in my room. I didn't want to talk to my mom, and it was easy not to, since she was doing yard work all morning. At 10 I went to summer seminary... When Alan got there he asked if I was going to the play tonight. I didn't know what to say, so I explained why my parents didn't want me to go (Murray park isn't the best place to be alone at night..especially for a teenage girl). And of course, Alan had a solution. "You could go with my mom. She's going tonight... I might even have a free ticket for you." Alan was awesome.

Summer seminary rocked! On the last day, we had a barbecue. It was a ton of fun!
On July 27, I wrote:
Seminary was great today! It was a barbecue, so we just got to mess around. I hung out with Alan, Jaron, and Silvia. Alan left at noon, and Jaron took me and Silvia to EJH. No one was there, so we went to McDonalds. From there, Jaron went home, and I took Silvia home.

August:
I went to Utah Business Week at Utah State. At first, I didn't want to be there. I missed my friends. But by the end of the week, I didn't want to leave!
On August 1, I wrote:
Maili is my best friend here. We've been sharing food and the funny thing is, our attitudes are a lot alike. We get annoyed at the same things, we make fun of the same things. It's good. Kris, Tyler, and Brenton are my other good friends, although I'm closer to Kris and Tyler. They're so funny. The food here sucks, and both me and Maili have family near, so we've been having our family bring us good food.

On August 2, I wrote:
My room mate went home, so Maili moved in! Yay! lol. There was a dance tonight. It was so much fun! I LOVE dancing. I met this kid named Sam. He reminds me of my friends at home.

On August 3, I wrote:
Oh, wow. Today has been the best so far. Mainly just this afternoon. This morning was filled with boring speakers as usual. This afternoon Maili and I came in to nap for lunch again. I actually got to sleep. Yay. We were late for our company meeting...again. We thought Scott would be mad, but he wasn't. I learned a new game today. It's called "Baby If You Love Me..." SO FUN! I HAVE to teach everyone at home.

September:
The dreaded school begins. The dreaded Junior year.

On September 28, I wrote:
I know, I know. It's 7:10 and I'm already at school. I've been here for 40 minutes. Isn't that insane? Early morning seminary. I love it, but I do miss some things. Like sitting in front of my locker and talking before school.

Early morning seminary is going to be the death of me. I love it, I really do. But it's getting so hard! And like the quitter that I am, I'm switching into seminary during 1B. It'll be better for me.

October:
My little sister had a birthday in October. Kortney and Jaron came over, we messed around with the karaoke machine, and basically had a good time. After Jaron left, Kort slept over. We went through our old journals, and ended up writing for awhile.
On October 6, I wrote:
Hey! I'm sitting here with Kortney. :D We're having fun.

Descriptive, huh? ;) Unfortunately, I didn't write any more about what we did that night, or the next day. You'll just have to trust me. We were having fun. :D

I also asked Alan to Sadies
On October 16, I wrote:
I asked Alan to Sadies last night. I put an alarm clock set for 3:52 under his bed with a poster that said "Wake up! Who knew? It's me, It's you. Get a Clue! Someone wants to go to Sadies with you!"

November:
Sadies! And getting Answered!
On November 20, I wrote:
He trashed my room. Glitter and streamers and balloons everywhere. I had to pop the balloons to see if he said yes or no. But Alan wasn't very sneaky. I totally knew that it was coming.

If you really wanna know about the rest of it, you can read my post on getting answered. And my post for Sadies, for that matter. ;)

On November 21, I wrote:
So yeah, Sadies really wasn't too bad. And after we left the dance, I was mad but I did have fun. I think overall, it's a good memory. I really can't wait for the pictures. I'm super excited for them.

And Thanksgiving, of course!
On November 27, I wrote:
Gotta love Thanksgiving. Lots of food. No school. Sweetness.

December:
I didn't write in December, either. :S Darn. Oh well, I went on a bunch of dates downtown to see the Christmas lights. Christmas break was amazingly fun, and amazingly short. I spent a ton of time with Alan and Jaron, and just had a great time. Life is great!

So there's my review of the year. It was a great year, and I'm totally psyched for the new one. :D It's going to be great, I know it! Thanks to everyone for being my friends. If I didn't mention you up there ^ it's not cuz I didn't want to. It's just cuz, come on, it's my journal. I'd prefer it if my WHOLE journal wasn't posted on the internet. ;) I just picked stuff that wasn't too personal. Anyway, I love ya all. You're all amazing. And I can't wait to hang out more in '07.

Eww

I feel really... eww... right now. Mostly just physically. My ear has needed to pop for the past 3 days. My nose... let's not get into that. Basically, my body isn't very good at fighting off the common cold. It can take care of pretty much everything, BUT the stupid little cold.

But I guess it's also a mental/emotional thing too. Now before you say "Courtney's gone emo," let me clarify. I'm not really unhappy. Things are pretty good right now. I mean, life's not perfect, but when has it ever been? I think I'm just drained. Things are a bit confusing right now, and I'm not exactly sure who to talk to about it. My mind is refusing to function, and although I know I have homework and extra credit work to do, I can't seem to make my body understand how crucial it is to finish this work. I blame the winter break. Nobody really wants to do anything after the break, right?

Ooh, good. :D Music. I've got it pumping, now. The volume is turned up to 15. I know that's not a huge number, but you should see my stereo. :D 15 is loud enough to make me happy, loud enough to shake the floor, but not quite loud enough for my parents to tell me to turn it down. Most of the time.

Sometimes I wonder what's going to happen in my life. Will the things that are important to me now be important to me later? Will the friends I have now remain with me throughout my life? I think everyone wonders about this sometimes. Especially as teenagers. We're stuck in between childhood and adulthood. We're too old to continue playing with the toys that amused us when we were younger, but we aren't old enough to move out, get a real job, or buy our own house. As my dad is fond of reminding me, we own nothing. Mostly he just points this out to tease me, but it's true. As we are not legal, we don't have any real property rights.

Hmm...

Well this is sort of a depressing post. More thoughtful, than depressing, I guess.

I really do have homework to do. I want to get to bed before 1 AM tonight. 'Night, all. ;)

EFY Revisited

Most of you know, last summer I went to EFY at USU. It was a blast. I met a ton of cool people. I actually still keep in touch with a bunch of them. Mainly, Matt, Rob, and Scott. Matt and Rob are twins. They live in Provo. Scott lives in Harrisville, which is just North? of Ogden. Scott and I have been talking a lot lately, and decided it would be a lot of fun to hang out. Matt, Rob, and Scott would meet here, because my house is pretty much the middle, and then we would go see the lights at Temple Square because they hadn't seen them yet. Scott and I decided it would be fun if we made it a date, I could bring some friends for Matt and Rob, and I would go with Scott. So we had it all planned, we just had to talk to Matt and Rob. Unfortunately, it was their sisters birthday yesterday, and so they couldn't come. So we switched gears, Scott would bring some friends, I would bring some friends. It would be fun. :D

So the guys showed up at about 5:15 last night. Scott brought his friends Alex and Justin. Tania and Jessica came shortly afterwards. After saying goodbye to the 'rents, Scott drove us to the Gateway. We chilled at the Gateway for a bit, going to the planetarium and walking around, just talking and looking at stuff. Then we went to Temple Square, to look at the lights. We eventually made our way back to the Gateway, and had dinner at Applebees. We finished dinner around 9, and decided to make our way back to my house. Once we got home, we talked a lot about EFY (ok, so me, Scott, and Jessica talked a lot :D No one else had been to EFY.) and a bunch of other stuff. Then we pulled out Apples to Apples. Now that was fun. :D I won the first round easily, to everyones chagrin. ;) The second round was tied for a long time between Tania and Jessica, before Justin and I caught up, with Jessica finally winning.

Around 11, my mom decided it was late enough, and everyone needed to go home. The guys had to drive for 45 minutes to get home, so it was probably good they left at that point, anyway. I said goodbye to Tania and Jessica first, then walked with Scott and Justin to their car, thanking them for driving so far, for paying for dinner, and for making the night so much fun. I really had a blast. I'm so glad they came.

Scott and I are planning to sign up for the same session of EFY this year, at USU of course. :D Scott said he'd bring Justin, too. :D How cool would it be if we were in the same company?! :D That would totally rock. So, in summary, last night was awesome. I was really nervous at first, but eventually I settled down and had a great time!

In other news, region dance tonight!! I'm super psyched! I haven't been to on since September, and I'm definitely going through withdrawals. :D So expect a post on that sometime in the near future. :D

Anyway, not much else to blog about. I've been spending a ton of time with Alan and Jaron lately, but usually we only amuse ourselves. Everyone else thinks we're weird. :D And we know we are. But at least we make ourselves laugh, right? Right.
peace out, yo. ;)

Christmas Madness

Good morning. It's 9 am, and I woke up about 10 minutes ago.

Everybody else is doing a Christmas review, so here's mine:

Everything went as it usually does, including all the Christmas drama. Do your families have Christmas drama? Mine does. Every year. And it's usually about the same thing. But we won't talk about that, cuz it's lame.

Annnyway, Christmas was a ton of fun. It seemed strange, because it didn't really feel like the Christmas season this year, even though I was way psyched. Christmas Eve, we (meaning my little sisters and I) made a deal with our parents. We promised not to wake them up until 7, if they promised not to go back to bed around 8. Usually, we wake them up at 5:30 or some other insane time, and they end up going back to bed. We don't like this. So we waited, and let me tell you, it was rough. ;) I actually woke up at 4. I went back to sleep until 6. Then I went back to sleep until my youngest sister woke me up at 7. Now, our bedrooms are on the top floor, the presents are on the main floor, and my parents room is in the basement. They make us wait upstairs until they come and tell us that we can run down the stairs and into the living room where our presents from Santa await us. Does Santa wrap at your house? Well, he doesn't here. So we've been getting creative lately about waking up our parents. When we were little, we would just yell. That's hard! Then we figured out, our vents are all connected. So we'd yell into the vents. :D This year, I called our house on my cell phone. Much easier. Much quicker. :D Go, Courtney. :D It so worked. Yes!

So then we did the usual present thing, check out the haul from Santa, then open family presents.
This is what I got:
  • a red nano ipod: 8 gb, with my name engraved on the back. :D
  • a book bag for my laptop
  • the Over the Hedge DVD
  • an Indianapolis Colts t-shirt
  • part of the Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites series
  • cookies, candy, the general Christmas treats
  • a kermit notebook
  • muppets pins
  • cool new pajamas
  • ugly new pajamas-trust me, you don't want to know. my grandma... ewww.

So yeah, that's what I got. I got a bunch of other stuff too, like gift cards to itunes and stuff. It was a pretty sweet Christmas, I must say.

Haha. Last night, Jaron, Alan, and I decided we were going to watch Dances With Wolves, for extra credit in Rockwell. We fast forwarded through a bunch of it, and didn't watch the rest. Booooooring. :D

Friday, some friends from EFY are coming to hang out. I'm super excited. I haven't seen these guys since...well, EFY.

Well, that's my rant for now. My mom says that if I want to hang out with my friends on Friday, I have to have a clean room and have finished all my homework. So I better get started. Thanks for pretending to care about what I did for Christmas. ;) See ya.

Merry Christmas Eve

Wow, can you believe it's Christmas Eve?!?!? That's insane!

I can't believe that December has gone by so quickly!

So I had a date last night. That was good fun. I went with Sam, Jessica B. went with Austin S. and then Sam's brother brought a date too. We went out to dinner, then downtown to look at lights, and then we watched Failure to Launch at Sam's house. I love that movie. Anyway, I had a really great time. Thanks, Sam!

I got home a bit after curfew. Only about 20 minutes, and it's the first time that it's ever happened. My parents were still mad. I had even called them and told them we were going to be late. *rolls eyes* So that was sorta a night spoiler. It's rediculous that they got mad.

Tonight Santa is coming! Have you been good boys and girls? Or is coal in your near future? ;)

Ooh, some friends from EFY are coming to visit me on Friday. :D I'm so excited! Scott, Matt, and Rob are so cool! We're going downtown (yes, again) lol. They haven't seen the lights yet, and the lights will be up until New Years, so I figured, hey. Why not? lol.

Well, I'm gonna go change out of my church clothes and find some lunch.
Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!

Oh, Happy Day

Wow, today has been great!
I was supposed to take my Christmas presents to school to pass out tomorrow, but they were calling to me... "Take us now, Courtney, take us now!" So this morning I packed up 3, yes 3! bags full of presents and took them to school. :D I love giving gifts. I only missed 2 people, and I can take those tomorrow. Seriously, it was so good. :D

First period was Spanish. All we did was a worksheet, and I finished that in about 5 minutes. Then we watched a movie. Second period was Adult Roles. We watched You've Got Mail. That's a good movie. It's a nice chick flick. Then we had lunch. This is when I handed out the majority of my presents. And...speaking of lunch, I forgot to eat... Hmm... I was so excited to give out presents, I forgot! Haha. This is not the first time that I've been so excited that I have missed a meal... just goes to show ya, without my parents, I'd starve to death! Oh man. Jared was wearing a Santa hat today. He had mistletoe conveniently stuck into the brim of his hat. When he told me that no one had kissed him, I made it my mission to fix that. ;) So Kortney, Marissa, Melissa and I went up to Jared and kissed him on the cheek. :D It was awesome. I laughed, he laughed, we all laughed. He actually texted me to thank me. ;) It was good fun.

Third period was history. We took a bunch of notes, watched a movie, and he handed out a bunch of homework. Merry Christmas to you, too, Rockwell! Fourth was Photography. We watched POTC2. That was fun! I love Pirates!

So, overall, today was just amazing. :D I had an awesome day. :D Hopefully, tomorrow will be just as good.

Well, I'm gonna go get some food. I'm pretty hungry!
Merry Christmas!

It's a Party!

Wow, what a weekend! Lol. 2 parties! It was insane.

Friday was Alan's birthday. He turned 17. Wow, he's old. :D Lol. Annnnyway, his party was Friday night. He told everyone to bring an ugly sweater. I know, an unusual request. But seriously, it's Alan. So, to humor him, Jo, Kim, Jaron, and I went to the DI to find some ugly sweaters. And boy, were some of them uuuugly. :D That was a great time. I can honestly say that I spent half of the time literally rolling on the ground because I was laughing so hard.
Alan's party was great fun. Jaron and I got him Pirates of the Caribbean Legos. I'm glad we had him open our presents first, because we were seriously out shined. Katie and Karen got him a directors chair. Yeah... our presents were lame. But I think he liked them...I think. Anyway, we ended up watching Happy Feet. That's a great movie. :D I seriously want a dancing penguin. That's now been promoted to life dream #1.

Saturday night was Katie's Christmas party. That was also great fun. :D Almost everyone was there. :D It was great. Good food, good friends, good video games...and a good snowball fight. Actually, there were 2. :D The first one was pretty equal. Nobody won, nobody lost. But then it was pretty much just me, Jaron, and Nick. The second one...well, let's just say whoever won, it wasn't me and Jaron. We were annihilated. :D
Did I mention I was wearing flip flops, no jacket, and no gloves throughout the whole thing? It was pretty dang cold by the time I got inside. :D Cold enough that my whole body hurt.
After the snowball fights, we went back inside to painfully warm up. I ended up getting cards thrown at me, and my head was nearly taken off twice! It was insane. :D

I use the words insane, great, good, and fun quite often, don't I?

Tonight is the Christmas band and choir concert. I should be there right now, but I'm babysitting. For all those whose amazing performances I missed, I truly am sorry. I'm sure you were amazing, and I feel really bad for missing it.

I went Christmas shopping today. :D I love Christmas. I'm almost done, I just have a few more gifts to get: 3 to be exact.

I spent $20 at the dollar store. Don't ask.

Oh yeah, I went to my aunts college graduation on Saturday. She got her masters in english from USU. Graduations are everything I thought they would be: Boring.

I was also able to bring home my new guitar on Saturday. It's gorgeous. :D It has an amazing sound, and it's beautiful. I really do love it. :D My sisters told me it was ugly. :( Shows what they know.

Well, that's life. It's great. Amazing. :D I really do love everything right now. And guess what! The Colts are even winning right now. 10-3. Take that, Bengals. Let's just hope this continues!

Well, I'm off to wrap presents and do homework. Quite the combination, I know. :D
Merry Christmas!

Spaz-Bot :D

Ok, so that has got to be the coolest thing someone has every called me. :D Thank you, Nick!

There really isn't much to blog about today, I don't really have any deep thoughts or special events to tell about.

Sparknotes is pretty much the coolest thing ever. Even ask anyone. lol. I have Sparknotes stuff for english and for history, and it pretty much rocks. It is definitely helping me.

School is movin' along. Midterms weren't as bad as I thought they were going to be.

My room is a mess. Yes, I just cleaned it on Saturday. Yes, it's messy again. Yes, there's still glitter everywhere...

13 days until Christmas. I hope it snows more soon.

I'm super excited. I love Christmas. I mean, presents are awesome. I love giving stuff. :D But seriously, all the symbolism of Christmas...it's just...wow. That's the only way I can think of to describe it. Can you believe that Christ was born in a manger? The King of Kings lay in the straw with the animals. Such a humble beginning to such a great life. He was born, a tiny baby, and went on to become the greatest Man who ever lived. He suffered all for us. He was perfect. He conquered death. Isn't that amazing? He suffered for you, He suffered for me. I am so grateful that I have a knowledge of this truth. I am so grateful that I can go through everyday with that extra spring in my step, all because of what I know. Isn't that wonderful? I think it is.

I hope your *Christmas* Season goes well. I hope you all smile. :D Smiling is the best. Just one smile can make a persons day. So pass it on. :D
*corky*
**Notice I said Christmas Season instead of Holiday Season. Christmas is what I celebrate. If someone celebrates a different holiday, I hope you have fun as well. But I celebrate Christmas. So I say, Merry Christmas.**

Snowball Fights, Dates, and College Plans, Oh My!

Wow, it's been awhile since I've posted. But I'm back, and I've got some stuff to say. :)
This week has been crazy. School is insane. My house is a mess. I'm way behind in some school stuff, I can't find my $125 calculator, and I've bombed some tests. And. My human biology teacher...well, we won't go there. We've been redoing my bathroom. It's been almost 2 weeks, and it's still not done. It's driving me crazy.

Some pretty awesome stuff happened this week. Would it be bragging to say most of it was my idea? If you said yes, prepare to read some bragging. ;)
I love snow. Snow is so much fun. :D I love snowball fights. So on Wednesday, I decided that I wanted to have a snowball fight. After enlisting a few people, Austin, Nathan, and Jaron, a mad snowball fight ensued. The problem is, I have crappy aim. So I was getting killed. I very rarely hit anyone. Although I had a few good shots (Nathan took one in the face. ;)), the guys were kicking my butt. I can't count the times I got hit in the head. Mostly, those hits were from Austin. Makes sense, doesn't it? Since when he puts his arm straight out, it hits me in the head. ;) Ok, so it hits over my head. :D lol. So anyway, back to me getting my butt kicked in a snowball fight. At one point, I looked over at Jaron and he was laying in the snow. And I thought "I could take this opportunity at a cheap shot and hit him hard. Or..." I'm sure there was an evil glint in my eye as I grabbed a huge handful of snow and whitewashed him. :D It was awesome. :D A few minutes later, the bell rang, so we started making our way over to the school building, I felt someone grab the back of my shirt. I turned around, grabbed Jaron, and shoved snow down his back before he could shove snow down mine. :D Excellent. Austin and Nathan both saw, and started running over. I took off. Pretty soon, I looked over and saw an unexpecting Austin just standing there. I scooped up some snow, and pretty soon Austin had a big handful of snow down the back of his shirt, too. After deciding to make my victory complete by getting Nathan, too, I whispered to Jaron to distract Nathan. He did this very well, and I was able to put a third and final handful of snow down Nathan's back. This is when I decided it would be a very good idea to take off, and after shouting goodbye's at all of them, I quickly went to class. When I walked into guitar, soaking wet and breathing hard, Doc gave me a strange look. So I smiled and explained to him that I had just had a snowball fight. And won. :D That's right, ladies and gentlemen, I won. I was losing horribly, but I came back for the kill. Go me. :D Doc laughed, and I spend a period in considerable pain. Cold fingers and guitars do not go well together.

My second great idea for the week also took place on Wednesday. Since I'm pretty much the only laurel to ever show up, I get to plan all of our activities. I really wanted to go look at the lights around Temple Square. But everyone does that. So I though "How can I make this different, and still have a great time?" Lightbulb! We could all bring dates! Of course, it would be just a laurel activity, the younger girls were planning their own activities. My young women's president thought it was a great idea, and so did the Bishop. I asked Nathan, and after checking with the young women's president on last time, I also invited Kortney and Melissa. They asked Eric and Levi. We had an awesome time! I won't get into all the details, because Nathan has already posted about it. It was a perfect night to look at Christmas lights. It was cold, but not too cold. Of course, the Temple grounds were full of mutual groups, but we were the only ones with dates. It was hilarious to pick out all the beehives and deacons. They were quite conspicuous. Not to mention, loud. :D Anyway, a great time was had by all. My Bishop liked my friends, my young womens president thought they were (in her words exactly) "interesting," and I made it home about 5 seconds before curfew. ;) It was awesome.

And now to the third part of this post: College Plans. I know a bunch of you are rolling your eyes right now. But college is a huge deal to me. I'm so psyched (even though I will miss my high school friends). Everyone who has ever talked to me would know that I'm a huge Aggie Fan. I have been planning on attending USU since I was about 2. No joke. That's what I've always wanted to do. I have also been planning on being a RN since I was about 10. This was my plan: Finish High School. Go to USU. Become a Nurse. Well, yesterday my plan was blown out of the water. USU does not have a nursing program. When I found this out, I seriously was this close to crying. Yesterday wasn't the greatest day anyway, and this was just the icing on the cake. That was my plan! That was what I wanted (and still want) to do! How could a plan that I've been working on forever disappear so quickly?! It's not fair. After talking to some friends from church, I was able to find out that Weber has a great nursing program. But Weber is not and never will be USU. Utah State is my dream school. I know there are a lot of options for college, and I know I still have some time to think about it, but it's seriously unnerving not having a plan that's set in stone. Although, I guess I've learned that it doesn't matter what your plan is set in: Dynamite can take anything out. So that's the trauma of the week. I don't know what to do.

Annnyway, I've been cleaning my room for a day and a half, and it's still not done. I really am sick of cleaning.

I could seriously go back to sleep right now. But I'm always ready to go back to sleep.

"We're rockin' the suburbs."

I think I want to watch POTC 2 today. That sounds fun.

But enough of my randomness. Have a nice day. ;)

Wow.

Hey Guys, I'm just about to get off to bed, so I thought I'd stop in and say hi. ;)

The past two days have been awesome.

I just finished homework for history. Well, maybe finished is an optimistic term. I'm hoping Jaron will help me finish the last question in the morning.
School is awesome, busy, and stressful.

I seriously don't have much to write, other than to say life is great!

Oh, The Fray is coming in concert! I might go. I'm super psyched. January 31. Tickets are $23. I think it would be so cool!

I got really hyper before math today. I blame the sip of Dr. Pepper Kenzi gave me. :D Of course, I had it in 1st period, and math is 3rd period. It was seriously funny. :D Even though I'm pretty sure I failed the test, I had fun in math. :D lol.

Anyway, I'm pretty tired. I'm gonna run to bed.
Sweet Dreams!

Answers

Ok, for the two of you who asked questions, here are some answers, as promised. :D ;)

First, Nathan's questions:
Would you prefer to be a dog trainer or a Chinese trapeze artist?
I would prefer to be a Chinese trapeze artist. I'm definitely not a dog person, and it would be seriously cool to do all of those sweet tricks. :D

When (not if) Bill Gates takes over the world, how do you plan on helping me overthrow him and establish my own dictatorship?
Using my Secret Ninja Abilities (learned, of course, during my secret training to be a Chinese trapeze artist), I would totally dominate Bill Gates. Then I would help you set up your dictatorship. After that, I would use these same Ninja Abilities to overthrow your dictatorship and start my own.

How long have you played the guitar?
About a year. And I'm still no good at it.

Have you lived in Taylorsville your whole life? Would you ever leave?
No, I have not lived in Taylorsville my whole life. In fact, I was born in Logan. At one time, I also lived in West Valley. Yeah, I plan on leaving. I'm going to USU for college, and then who knows. Although I probably won't ever leave Utah.

If you could be in a movie, would would be your role and what would the movie be called?
I would be the Beautiful Heroine. ;) Lol. The movie would be called.... Stories of a Teenage Drama Queen. ;)

Rock, paper, or scissors?
The wise man built his house upon a rock.

Do you feel comfortable stealing Nick's ideas?
I think the true question is, do YOU feel comfortable stealing Nick's ideas?

Are you right or left handed?
Choose the Right. ;)

What is your fondest memory?
Oh, so many to choose from. I think one of them would be sitting in Thatcher's living room, playing Catch Phrase with the Posse, and laughing at all the mean things (Tramp) Thatcher called me.

Any current love interests?
Yes.

How do you feel about yes or no questions?
I love them. ;) I mean...they're annoying and I hate answering them. :-E

If I were to ask you a yes or no question, how would you respond?
With either A) Yes. Or B) No.

In the event of me asking a yes or no question, do you think you would be ready?
Probably Not.

Are you aware that that last question was a yes or no question?
It was?!

What would you do if I left a question unfinished?
I would... Answer it.

What is your
Dot. Dot. Dot.

Now on to Dr. Paleo's:
Do you fear death?
Well, no. In Dumbledore's words "Death is but the next great adventure."

Where do you think you will go when you die?
The LDS church believe in the 3 Kingdoms of Glory. Hopefully, I'll be in the Celestial.

What one person is your most greatest inspiration?
My Great-Grandmother. She is so strong. She was widowed when she was very young, raised 2 great children, 5 amazing grandchildren, and 9 of the greatest great-grandchildren (if I do say so myself.) She's an accomplished seamstress. She's always been very generous, very optimistic, and an amazing baker. I actually used to fake being sick so I could stay at her house and make cookies all day. :D

Do you have a job? If so, where?
Yes, I work for OC Tanner. (It's a jewelry company).

Do you like it?
Yes, I do! I get to work at my house, whenever I want to. And it pays well. :D

What do you believe about femininity?
I'm a combination of modern and old school beliefs. I believe that women can be very strong and independent. I admire those single mothers who work so hard to make things work, but I also believe that men were put on this earth for a reason, and that men play a very important role in the Plan of Salvation. Men are still the protectors of the family, and someday I hope that my husband will be the sole provider for our family while I stay home with the kids.

Masculinity?
See Above. ;)

About war?
If there's any way to avoid war, without giving up our safety, integrity, and Liberty, do it. Use war only as a last resort.

About science?
I think science is awesome. :D I think it's done a lot for our lives, and made my life a billion times better than it might have been. Go Science.

Do you believe in bigfoot?
Yeah, his real name is James and he's my cousin.

How DO you spell your real name?
My real name is Courtney. My middle name is Marie. And so you get Corky Marie.

Are you really a drama queen?
I would say yes. I can create drama out of everything. Most of the time, I prefer good drama. And if you were talking about drama as in plays and stuff....well, I'm not a performer, but I do love watching. :D

Why do you giggle so much? (Don't worry, it's actually kind of nice).
I giggle a lot because...I'm happy. I'm very optimistic. I think that most problems have good solutions, and most of all I believe that attitude determines everything. If you have a good attitude about things, they'll turn out well. If you choose to learn and laugh rather than take offense, you'll be much happier. Mostly I giggle a lot because I LOVE to. I love laughing. I love smiling. I love being happy. And just think of all the laugh lines I'll have later. :D Sweet.

Back to Nathan:
Do you prefer nerds or airheads? (both the candy and the guys)
I prefer airheads (for candy) and nerds (for guys).

What is your favorite method of popping bubbles?
Umm...with my....lips.
Come on, it's just bubblegum. ;)

If you could fight in any major war in the past, what war would it be?
The Revolutionary War. The British are coming! The British are coming!

What would you name a boat?
The Corky Marie

Would this boat sink?
It would not sink. Cuz it would be unsinkable. Just like the Titanic.

Follow-up: In which ocean would this sinking take place?
I told you, it wouldn't sink!

What is your favorite season?
Fall.

Does this season have a name?
Yep. Autumn.

What is this season's signature wrestling move?
The Falling Leaf.

Can I poo on your car?
NO.

Will you please say no to that last question?
Duh.

What are your plans for after high school?
I plan to go to USU, meet a Returned Missionary, marry said Missionary in the Temple, and have kids. :D

What kind of career do you want?
I would love to be a registered nurse.

Where do you see yourself five years from now?
I see myself in college, seriously dating, or even married.

Back to Dr. Paleo's:
What would you do if Nathan pooed on your car?
Be seriously grossed out.

If you were ever being harmed by a man, would you want someone to interfere?
Umm....well, I wouldn't want anyone else to get hurt. But...I would still like some help.

Would you try to stop a guy from interfering for the sake of another girl? (A bit of advice: don't.)
First of all...Thanks for the advice. I would want to help. I think the first thing I would do, would be to call 911. Then I would do whatever I could to help the girl.

Ok. Well, thanks to the two of you who actually asked questions. I hope I provided satisfactory answers. If not, talk to me and I'll try to answer your questions. A fun post is coming up sometime soon. I'm not sure when, but soon. ;)
Have a great night.

Sadies Pics

This is what my bedroom looked like after Alan answered me for sadies...
Yep, that's my bed COVERED in glitter and confetti...
It's like there was a party in my room and I wasn't invited. Hey Nathan, look at the shelves. See the bottles? That's the soda. :D

Idea Thief

Mwahaha. I'm stealing everyone's ideas. I know Nathan and Nick have done this, and I'm sure other people have done this too.
Here's your one and only chance (maybe) to ask me anything, and have me come up with a somewhat decent answer. Hooray.
So act now, while the deal is still good. I'll be answering the questions on Saturday.
Ready. Set. Go.

Thankful: A Thanksgiving Post

Yeah, I know Thanksgiving is officially tomorrow. But I thought I'd get a jumpstart. ;)
So...as a special Turkey Day treat, I'm going to make a list of things I'm thankful for.

I'm thankful that we don't have school for another four days.
I'm thankful that I don't have english homework.
I'm thankful for great friends that I can always have fun with.
I'm thankful for good food and people to share it with.
I'm thankful for music, the kind I can dance to, the kind I can sing to, the kind I can feel the spirit with.
I'm thankful for froustaches. :-E
I'm thankful for the gospel, the knowledge it provides me with and the peace it gives me.
I'm thankful for a wonderful family that supports me in all that I do.
I'm thankful for great friends that support me in all that I do.
I'm thankful for a warm bed, soft plankets, and a comfortable pillow.
I'm thankful for parents that provide for me.
I'm thankful for grandparents who spoil me.
I'm thankful for the special moments in life.
I'm thankful for a special bond with my family, both immediate and extended.
I'm thankful for clothes that keep me warm, keep me cool, and keep me modest.
I'm thankful for cookies.
I'm thankful for the wonderful example set by friends, family, and church leaders.
I'm thankful for my Bishop, for the wonderful man that he is, and for the great relationship I have with him.
I'm thankful for technological advances that make my life easier, more entertaining, and well, better.
I'm thankful for smiles.
I'm thankful for those that came before me who paved a path of liberty and religious freedom.
I'm thankful for Joseph Smith, his inspiration, his dedication, and the path he paved.
I'm thankful for memories, and for pictures.
I'm thankful for tree.
I'm thankful for laughter.
I'm thankful for happiness.
I'm thankful for the holidays, and what they represent.
I'm thankful for the impact that each of you have had on my life.
I'm thankful for my testimony of Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith, and the Book Of Mormon.
I'm thankful for giggles.

Well, those are a few of the things I'm thankful for. They're not in any particular order. They all make me happy. So here's your challenge: Write a thank you note to someone. Not just a Turkey Gram, although those rock. Write a real thank you note. It can be a letter, it can be an email. It can be whatever you want it to be. Just let someone know how you feel about them, surprise them.

Thanks to everyone who has made a difference in my life, I owe you. I'm so glad you're my friends. :D You all rock, majorly.

Have an awesome Thanksgiving, everyone. Enjoy your long weekend. And avoid Black Friday shopping.

Hands Down

(8) Hands down, this is the best day I can ever remember, always remember. (8)
-Hands Down, Dashboard Confessional

That should be changed to the best WEEKEND I can ever remember. Oh man, it totally rocked. You have no idea.

So I already told you about Friday and Saturday. Sunday was just as awesome.

I got up, finished my post, and then went to church. I love church. We had a great sacrament meeting. One of the high councilmen spoke. He was really funny. He's from Wales, so he had a cool accent. It was good. They released my Sunday school teacher, so that was a bummer. I love Sister L. and I'm gonna miss her. We finished our Sunday school lesson early, so I talked to Josh for a bit. Then we had YW. Our lesson was on Courage. It was a really good lesson. After church, I came home and made sandwhiches for our Bishopric. They had to stay later after church, and my dad is the executive secretary, so I make them sandwhiches often. After that, it was basically chilling. I talked to Trevor, finished some homework, and talked to a few other people.

Then, something odd happened. Usually, my parents only make me clean my room if it's really messy. I had cleaned it on Friday, so it wasn't too bad. My bed was the only messy part. And I hate making my bed. I find it pointles....but I digress. My parents made me make my bed and finish the little things that needed to be clean. Weird. Then, during dinner, my dad's cell rang. He answered it. The conversation sounded like this:
"Well... Can you give me another half an hour?" Pause. "How about 7:30?" Pause. "Ok, see you then."
He was sitting close enough to me that I could hear Alan. I couldn't hear what Alan was saying, but I could hear Alan's voice.

Not at all suspicious.

After dinner, my parents tell me to take my sisters and stay at my grandma's house "until we call you."

Oh yeah, I don't suspect a thing.

So I go to my grandma's house. She's all "Why are you here?"
My response: "My date for sadies is trashing my room as we speak."
Grandma said "Oh, I"m sure your mom won't let them do anything too bad..."

Yeah, right.

I walk into my room. It's covered in glitter/confetti. Absolutely covered. Everywhere. Everything. Like an inch of glitter....The metallicy stuff that doesn't ever go away..

Yeah, my spotless room. It was covered. Oh, let's not forget the streamers and balloons. Yeah. Lots of those two. My first thought: laughter. My second thought, "I'm gonna kill Alan and Jaron."

Nah, just kidding. I was super happy to be answered. He said yes. And I'm super psyched for Saturday, it's going to be a blast! I got our t-shirts. They're awesome. Now I just need to get paid so I can buy everything else....

Oh man, I took pictures of my room. I should post them...first I need to figure out how to do that...

Anyway, there's Courtney's weekend. :D It was the best every. :D I hope you all had great weekends too! :-E
Cya!

Froustache! :-E

.....
Don't ask.
Nathan's laughing right now, I know he is.
....
Once again, don't ask.

Hm.... I told Nathan I would post this weekend, and here I am. Yesterday was pretty good. I've been in a sucky mood lately, depressing and mean. Trevor made me realize that last night. So I decided no more emo corky. Sure, some crappy stuff happened. But I control my reaction to those things, and I'm gonna be happy. So there.

Sunday, November 12

Sorry guys, I had to run. My family went shopping, so I was forced to save the rest of the post for later. And I'm actually finishing it. Sweet.

Oh man, yesterday was so awesome. But I guess I should write about Friday, first. So Friday I was in one of my emo moods. Then I talked to Trevor, and he made me realize that I was being retarded. So after I got offline, I decided that I was gonna be happy. Basically, in my mind, being happy is like saying "You lose" to all the forces that are trying to make me sad. So I'm gonna be happy. Then I decided to make some cookies. We had these cool chocolate chip things that were half chocolate and half peanut butter. So I used those. Then I went to frisbee. I took some cookies to Trevor as a "thank you" for helping me realize how stupid I was being. Frisbee was...cold. But soo much fun! There were a ton of people there. It was great. Me and Trevor were being stupid and silly, and Rebecca was fun, and Melissa Robinson was fun, and Marissa was pretty funny. :D James gave me a lot of crap, just cuz I was there and he could. That was fun, too. In case you hadn't picked up on it, I had fun. And Trevor looked like a whale. Haha. :D Don't ask....Rebecca and Trevor, you know what I mean.

Now on to Saturday. On Saturday I went to a football game. Oh wait, backtracking to this summer. I went to Utah Business Week. I met this kid named Brenton, and we got to be really good friends. We had ton of fun. The catch is that he's from Duchesne. So obviously I don't get to see him often. He's on the football team at his highschool, and they were playing for State on Saturday at Juan Diego Highschool. So I went and watched him play. Once again, it was freezing. But I had the greatest time. Even thought the only person I knew, was Brenton. And obviously, he was playing so I couldn't really talk to him. But I had a great time. I got to talk to him after the game, but only for a few seconds. They won 30-0. So he was pretty busy celebrating. I was super excited to see him. It was good.

After, my parents came and picked me up. We went to JC Penny. I got shirts for sadies. They're pretty much awesome. Now all I have to do is a) get answered and b) plan everything. So I'm almost ready. ;)

When I got home, I called Jaron and we decided we wanted to have a movie night, but we wanted it small. So we called Alan, and told him to come.

After I wrote the first part of this post, my family went shopping. We (me, Bailey, and Jasey) needed winter coats. So we all went to Sports Authority and got to pick out a new coat. Then we went to Jamba Juice as a present for getting good grades.

Shortly after we got home, Jaron and Alan showed up. We had a really great time. It was the most fun I've had in a long time. We watched Cars and had cookies and soda and ice cream. It was really great to spend time with my two best friends, especially because it was just us. I was super happy that they both could come. They left around 10:30.

Then I went to bed. I pretty much crashed. It was a busy day! And now, I'm here writing this. When I should be getting ready for church. I have some more stuff I would like to write about. Some ideas, and some stuff like that. So I will be writing more sometime soon. Maybe. ;)
